Companies trying to hasten the antitrust reviews of their deals are increasingly deciding to hit the reset button on the regulatory clock, a maneuver aimed at saving time and money on government reviews. Although the strategy is becoming increasingly popular, it’s not a sure thing: Genentech announced Monday that it must comply with a longer, costly review of a purchase deal for which the company had earlier pulled and refiled paperwork.
