Farmworkers and environmental groups have reopened a lawsuit against the EPA seeking a quicker phase-out of a pesticide they say has been poisoning fieldworkers for decades. The suit challenges a November EPA decision to extend to 2012 the timetable for phasing out the pesticide, known as AZM.”It is inexcusable for EPA to allow AZM to continue poisoning workers for six more years,” said a United Farm Workers spokesman.”Public health is still our top priority,” an EPA spokeswoman said.
