The Mississippi Supreme Court will hear arguments Jan. 10 from Ford Motor Co., which seeks to reinstate a jury verdict that it wasn’t liable for the deaths of two students in a collision between a Ford Explorer and another vehicle. The students’ families had claimed the fire that erupted was caused by a faulty fuel system in the Explorer, but the jury ruled in favor of Ford. The trial judge overturned the verdict after an attorney for the families argued that Ford and its attorneys concealed evidence.
