Brocade Communications Systems Inc.’s $713 million acquisition of McData Corp. caught the unexpected attention of FTC antitrust enforcers, who have issued a second request for information, the company announced Tuesday. Antitrust experts wanting to scrutinize a deal that puts about 70 percent market share for storage area networking into the hands of one company is no shock. But software deals are usually reviewed by the DOJ. Officials from neither agency would comment on how jurisdiction was decided.
