After the hearing, the Judge enters a judgment in your favor. Unfortunately, months later, you still haven’t received any money from the Defendant. How do you collect on your judgment?

Go to the court with relevant jurisdiction and take your favorable judgement and request that the court (Judge) grant you a Writ of Execution. Onec you have the Writ of Execution, you can act to collect on the judgement – without breaching the peace. Specifically, contact your local constabulary/sherrif, let them know you received a Writ of Execution and request that they collect on it. They will then go to the persons residence and seize whatever goods may be needed for you to realize the full amount of the judgement and cover their collection expenses (you don’t even have to pay Sheriff for the service – the tortfeasor does). The only caveat is that if the tortfeasor is indigent you can’t get blood from a rock and as well make sure the tortfeasor hasn’t filed a bankruptcy claim that would complicate the issue. Good luck.
