Companies hiring junior in-house attorneys have little difficulty competing with law firms. But it can become more challenging to attract attorneys who are seven or more years out of law school and who may be on a profitable partnership track at their firms. Companies must think creatively and look beyond salary to retain the edge necessary to woo top-notch talent. Just a few of the tools available to companies include signing and incentive bonuses, equity awards and management opportunities.
