Incoming Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd said last week that he plans to make oversight of public and corporate pension fund investments into hedge funds a priority for 2007. A Senate committee dispute could be brewing. Dodd asserts that congressional jurisdiction over hedge funds resides with the Banking Committee, but outgoing Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter has drafted hedge fund legislation and outgoing Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley has also shown interest.
