A New York judge has permitted a lawyer to proceed with a malicious
prosecution suit against the mortgage company and law firm that
previously brought a legal malpractice suit against her. The judge said
lawyer Linda Strumpf’s claim that she had suffered from a rise in her
professional liability insurance premiums and had lost clients due to
the malpractice suit could constitute the “special injury” required of
malicious prosecution suits.
