PharmaNet Faces Shareholders’ Suit Over Practices That Made Stock Dive

PharmaNet, a Princeton, N.J., clinical drug development company once under U.S. Senate investigation for its treatment of human test subjects, now faces an avalanche of shareholder litigation. A putative class-action suit in federal court in Newark, N.J., alleges the company and its top executives made false and misleading statements to investors, engaged in improper business practices and tried to cover them up.
