Like many private Silicon Valley companies, mobile software maker Good Technology was looking toward a “public exit” long before it happened. But without knowing whether the exit would come in the form of an initial public offering or an acquisition, the company took an extra step to prepare, hiring in-house attorney Ginny Coles to handle most of the preparation on-site. So when Motorola came calling, Good was good and ready, said Coles at a recent panel on taking private companies public.
