Silicon Valley-based companies Hewlett-Packard, McAfee and KLA-Tencor, to name a few, are hunting for new GCs, and recruiter Carl Baier says candidates must be “squeaky clean.” Stars on the companies’ remaining legal staffs might have a shot, but recruiter Sandy Lechtick says companies may want to send a message by hiring an outsider.
